5 CRAFT prompts for Medical Affairs
It is 11pm, the night before the KOL meeting. The AI gave you a summary, and you are rewriting it by hand.
The problem is rarely the model. It is the one-line prompt. These five prompts give the AI what Medical Affairs work actually needs, so the first answer is one you can use.
What CRAFT stands for
Every prompt below is built on the same five parts. Miss one and the AI fills the gap with a guess.
Use only your organisation's approved AI tools, and remove patient-identifiable and HCP-identifiable information before pasting anything in. AI output supports your work. It does not replace medical review or MLR.
Get the five prompts
Enter your name and email and the prompts appear on this page straight away, each with a copy button.
- KOL meeting brief
- Field insight synthesis
- Congress debrief
- Medical information response
- Advisory board design
Getting more from these prompts
- Add your source material. Attach or paste the publication, notes or label section. The prompts tell the AI to use only what you provide.
- Ask it to check itself. After the first answer, follow up with: "List every statement that is not supported by the source I gave you."
- Save the ones you use weekly. Turn them into a Copilot Notebook, a custom GPT, a Claude Project or a shared team template, so nobody starts from a blank box again.
FAQ
What is the CRAFT prompting framework?
CRAFT stands for Context, Role, Audience, Format and Tone. It is a structure for writing prompts that gives an AI tool the information it needs to produce usable output first time, instead of a generic answer you have to rewrite.
Are these prompts compliant to use in Medical Affairs?
They are written for non-promotional, internal and medical information use, and each one tells the AI to stay within the sources you provide. Compliance still depends on your tools and processes: use only approved AI tools, keep identifiable data out, and send outputs through your normal medical review and MLR.
Which AI tools do they work with?
Any general-purpose AI assistant your organisation has approved, including Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini.
Can I share them with my team?
Yes. Use them, adapt them and share them inside your organisation. If your team wants to go further, we run hands-on AI training for Medical Affairs teams.
